Default walbro pump with stock fuel system

i have the chance to pick up a pretty cheap walbro high flow pump for my lude, my question is if i put it in with the rest for the fuel system stock will the stock fpr still maintain the stock fuel pressure or will the high flow pump cause me to run rich?

im a little confused because im pretty sure that the FPR is what determines the fuel pressure but if you have a more powerful pump will the fpr compensate and keep the stock pressure
presure

dont quote me on this but the walbro raises it 3-4 psi so you would have to get a regulator to bring it back to stock.

what makes the presure higher the fact that the stock fpr can't bypass the high flow that the walbro makes?

eventually im going to be boosting 7 psi and i am going to use a FMU becasue i can't aford a standalone, and with an fmu i know i need a higher flow fuel pump becaseu the stock one will drop out like after 4psi with a a rising rate fuel presure regualtor, so i can pick up a walbro cheap and would solve my flow problem but im worred about off boost idle

When i installed my Walbro 255 it upped my FP by a few psi also. But i have a regulator and i tuned it accordingly. It was one of the mods i felt the most, being that i had that extra fuel topend.

Watch out though if you're buying a used pump, b/c once they get used and then dry out, the internals break down and stop working.

so the fact that iut raises your fuel presure a couple of psi didn't mess your idel up too much? you think the ecu just compensated?

it might, it might not, but if its going to run richer at idle, it might idle low, lumpy, or stall out

like i said before. it idles like stock. It's not low, lumpy and it doesn't stall out. I drive 40 mins to work everyday through stop and go traffic with no problems.

You need an adjustable fpr at the rail to take care of that problem.

For me, my pump is loud when is warming up and when i get low on fuel (pump is working harder to get that little but of fuel out of the tank). Once it warmed up i dont hear it.

All i hear is my motor every bit of road noise...damn gutted interior

the other thing is if im boosted i know i need more fuel , and until i can save moeny im gonna use a FMU, but if the walbro is going to raise my fuel presure then its going to affect off boost idleablity , so what do i do?

You can use an FMU while using an adjustable fpr at the rail to adjust the idle pressure. Adjust your idle pressure first, adjust your FMU pressures on a dyno, and recheck your idle pressure.

I had my 255lph walbro in with the stock regulator and the fuel pressure at idle with the vacuum hose connected was around 50. With my stock cx civic pump in, the fuel pressure at idle with the vacuum hose connected was 32ish.
