Default Another Casualty!!!

My car was hit on my way home from school today I was in the center most left turn lane, and a guy in a new Silver VW Jetta in the outside left turn lane decided to try and make a U-turn in front of me when the light turned green and smashed up the passenger front side of my hatch. He claimed responsibilty for the accident and we just exhanged info with out a Police report. My car is still driveable, but the bumper was torn off and my CAI is smashed to ****. Also my hood is bent and way off alignment.I'm hoping there won't be any trouble with his Ins Co. so I can get my car fixed ASAP. Maybe even have it better than before. Any tips on how I should handle this situation? I'm new to this process and don't want to get screwed. TIA

without a police report, it could be hard to convince his insurance company that it's is fault. it depends on how cool the guy is. he could tell them it's your fault, then they've got to investigate and try to make their decision. or he could tell them it's his fault, and it won't be too much of a problem. get a few different estimates while you're waiting

Yeah I thought about the possibility of ot being totaled out since it's worth is not much. Being a STD and all. Hopefully that won't happen. But if so I'll just buy it back and jerk the motor and anything else useful. I would definitely get another EF. Maybe a CRX this time. Hmmmmmm I guess we'll see

I don't think he would try to put the blame on me. He clearly stated in front of me my GF and his wife that it was his fault. So I don't think he will

yeah this happened to me, next time file a police report unless it's a close friend. It's easier to get the check with the report and it teaches the people a lesson for their stupidity (ticket + points). Just because he stated it was his fault when he did it to you, doesn't exactly mean he'll say the same thing to the insurance company - no matter how many witnesses you have. Most likely he will tell the truth, but there is always that small chance
