Default Graduation is good..hehe

Yeah, so I just recently graduated from high school. I have a 93 lx thats slightly modded (exhaust, coilovers). I've been contemplating different things to do about my car.

1) swap either an ls or a gsr engine in and do an auto-manual swap

2) sell it to a ricer as it is and say it's really fast

3) put it back to stock and sell it to a new driver or something of the sort

i've recently decided to go with option 3. i figure i'll get more money out of it, and therefore can buy a new car. or at least go towards one. I just started a bank account to save up some money. i have roughly 400 bucks in there right now, and my dad will be giving me 600. i also have 2 grad parties coming up in which ill get more money ...as well as a job painting my moms house (its a bitch but is worth the 200 a week). i figure this will give me (by the end of the summer or so) a good amount of money to go towards buying a car or putting a nice down payment on one.

what do you think? is this the best option for me? either way i'm going to sell it but i just want to know your guys' opinions on one of my first big financial moves. thanks.

Hey man, I am in nearly the exact same position... contemplating selling my car, getting a newer one over summer, and have the same starting amount in my bank account.

I might keep my car as a winter car, but I am not sure, it also needs some body work, so if I did sell it I would have to fix it. I have pretty much decided against any sort of swap, b/c I would also have to do an auto to manual swap, and I really cannot justify sinking 2-3grand on this car, but to each his own.

So far, on my list of possible cars I have:
AWD DSM
300ZX
MR2
92-96 Prelude
Celica All-Trac

and there might be a few others I can't think of off the top of my head.
Fill me in on what you end up doing, I would like to see where we end up!

HMm if i were you i would definetly sell it or trade it in to a dealership and buy a 300 ZX or GSR. I dont think you can go wrong there. Just my opinion but insurance is a pain as fas as i know. IM paying 350$ Canadian on my SiR.monthly. Its worth it, no other choice

I too like many have a dream of one day owning a beautiful fairlady z32TT. But if i was you, possibly look into a lower class for now. Find out where you are in your life man. Concentrate on school bro. Do something you love, if it deals with cars, more power to you. But it's something too many overlook. Go to college and cruise in a lower class. Get out and cruise in something that makes a psssshhhhh when you shift. Well whatever you decide, good luck
