Default Intermitant Battery light...

90crx Si, ZC engine, pm6 ECU.
Light will flash for 1/2 a second, then shut off.

what would cause this? bad battery/alternator?
battery is 5 months old, I have no stereo, but I've been driving with my highbeams on a hell of alot...

any ideas?

alternator going bad!! Basically the battery light is a warning light for your alternator telling you it's going out!!

Yup sounds like your alternators dying.

loose belt, or just alt going bad.

"battery" light is a misnomer, it indicates the health of the charging system, not the voltage of the battery.

Its the brushes in the alternator. They have reached the end of there travel in the brush holder. Take it to a good alternator shop and they will ususally pop a set in for under $20. I have a spare set because when i saw how easy it is to replace them i just bought a new set ($6) so i can do the job next time. Or you can buy a lifetime alternator and when it goes bad just swap for a new one.
