can someone tell me how to install a short shifter? and will a short shifter for a 88 civic work on a 85 civic hb? please include pics if you have any, thanks.

 

sorry to say 88+ shifters are different from 84-87. 88+ Civics use a larger ball and 84-87 are vice versa.

 

you need to remove the shift ****/boot & then unscrew the ebrake/shifter console. there are a couple of bolts that old the shifter in place. then you need to crawl under the car & unbolt the shifter from the shift linkage- then reverse process to install. hth

 

its butt easy. get under there, and fig it out. if not search

 

are there any shortshifters I can use for my85 civic hb?

 

dc sports or pace setters are the only 2 I know for 1gen crx, 3rd gen civics
