88-91 panels for both the civic hatch and crx.... also, does the hood lock fit? Are they universal?

well 88 crx panels will fit 88-89 hatch 89-91 crx panels will fit 90-91 hatch, the reason for this is in 88 the crx had the seatbelts mounted to the pillar, and in the 88-89 hatch they were the same. in 89-91 they put the seatbelts on the doors of the crxs so the panels will fit 90-91 hatches.

if you put a 88 crx door panel on a 90 hatch it wont work because of the seat belts, but if you put a 89 crx panel on a 90 hatch it will work cuz the seatbelt is in the same spot

no they wont because of the seat belts, the 88 hatch panels have no spots for the seatbelts to go through and isnt bubbled out for the retractor so they wont fit. if you find 90-91 hatch panels they will or even 89 crx panels. but not 88 crx or 88-89 hatch.

I would like to know as well, I would assume they do, you would just have that bubble in the panel from the space for the seatbelt. I don't know if that would look stupid or if it would be ok.

if to door card has an opening for the seat belts but seat belt is on the pillar then the card will work. but if the seat belt is on the door and the door card does not have the selt belt opening it will not fit!

No. An '88-'89 CRX HF door panel would fit an '88-'89 hatch. In 1988, ALL CRXs had pillar-mounted seatbelts. In 1989, ONLY CRX HF models got the pillar-mounted belts (all models II'm speaking of are US models); in 1990 and '91, ALL CRX models used the door-mounts.

Door panels from a car with door-mounted belts don't play well on cars with pillar-mounted belts, and vice-versa.

In other words, if your car has pillar-mounted belts, use ONLY door panels from a car that has the same seatbelt setup; likewise for the door-mounts - if you've got door-mounts, use door panels from a door-mount car.
