Default B&M shifter

To all of you that have it, did yours have bearings in it? The guys at my local shop told me that my 99 integra would have to get one with bearings in it, or it would rattle really bad. They told me it would also cost about $30 more. Is this true? Thanks.

I have the B&M. It does not have bearings. Now B&M does make a shifter stabilizer kit that's around $50, could he have been talking about that? The shifter itself is just one piece of billet steel . Very strong and feels good. Also, don't listen to what anyone says about the shifter rattling...everyone makes a huge deal out of it, but if you install it right, it's hardly noticeable.

i installed mine without bearings (94 ls), it works perfect, just use the lubricant and ring washers supplied.

Why did you post that? Is this a good shifter? Have you used it?

What is up with people and aluminum short shifters? Get a skunk2 of c's.
I personally wouldnt risk something like my shifter to aluminum. They get hot and snap.

C's is too expensive. And I want a shortened **** height. The Skunk 2 doesn't offer that.

I actually bought a C's to figure out what was so great about it.

it's the same stick of metal like every other shifter out there...the difference is a set of bearings (exact same as ABEC-5 or higher rollerblade bearings) in the base on either side.

there you have it.

If you install it right, it shouldn't rattle and you wouldn't have to notice anything. When you say "hardly noticeable" does that mean yours rattles too? I have a B&M and it rattles.

I just wish C's made the "driver position shift" still. I'm still looking for one...

i have the b&m, it does wat it does, and it really is good quality, these will NOT break! personally though, i'd rather use a stock shifter, if anyone is local and wants to pull mines off for themselve and put my stock one back on cuz i'm lazy, give me $25 and go for it

Why would you rather use the stock shifter? Does the B&M shorten the **** height?
