Default For Sale: AEM EMS 30-1010

Hello guys/gals,

I just received my EMS back from AEM getting "checked out" so to speak. I just wanted them to approve that it was working perfectly, and since it didnt cost me any money I figured it would just make the potential buyer feel that much more comfortable. It is a 30-1010 unit and it comes in original box with the original cd-rom and cable. Serial number etc. is on the box. I have used the AEM EMS for not more than a day back when I had my 00 si turbo. That car has come and gone and I have been lazy to sell this, and then AEM took their sweet *** time getting this back to me. Any questions please let me know.

$975 shipped.

You sent a non defective unit back to AEM for service
They charged you Nothing to totally check it out

You complain that it wasn't fast enough for you???

Well, I dont know about you but I would be ONE PISSED OFF MOMMA, I would call them up and demand that they refund the service charge, I Mea........

Wait a second. You PAID NOTHING!

Yep no complaints here. It took longer than a week, but no big deal. All I would of paid was the shipping to AEM, but the shop being the nice people they are took care of it for me. We were having a problem getting a map to save before we took the turbo off of my car (turns out we didnt have one of the settings right) and we did not want to sell someone a funked up EMS so we decided to send it to AEM. I was trying to do the right thing....

AEM is a big company that in all actuallity doesnt give a **** about your honda. however, 1 week turn around time for service is quite friggn amazing.

They were probably trying everything they knew of to FIX your unbroken unit. Had you simply told them the truth, "...I just wanted them to approve that it was working perfectly, and since it didnt cost me any money..." then it would not have taken so long for them to FIX it!

Oh, and BUMP!

Well I thought there was a problem. There was certainly something wrong when my car is broken down on the side of the freeway and was running like a charm 10 minutes prior to, so we figured it was the ecu wasnt saving the map obviously. it wasnt, because the settings were messed up, and the week before that we had to have it cleared by aem because the laptop froze during the connection, so I had reason to believe, and didnt want to sell it to someone if something was wrong with it.

The part about the laptop freezing, that was a topic on the AEM board last summer If I recall it correctly the issue was in the configuration of the laptop. I do remeber that Alot of people trying to use a USB to Serial connection encountered this. It needs to be serial to serial, which allows you to pick-up a cheap used pentium 2 laptop. I have an AEM EMS and have had it in a year. Fantastic ECU if done right. It should definetly be done by an experienced tuner and with a wideband.

Oh, free bump to a good deal!
