I have a b16a2 in my vx, with I/E/H p28chipped
now my redline is 8500
and i am planning to get a nx kit 50shot,
would it be safe to rev to 8500 on the bottle
on a stock head?
or i should order a custom chip with a stock b16
maps and fuel cut off

Even though you only plan on doing a 50 shot I wouldn't suggest going that high on the RPM band. When you start running it, see where it stops making power through the gears. Key here is consistancy which really requires your pressure to stay constant and not to hit any dry spots in the line. Def. get a gauge and depending how far you wanna go, a bttl warmer isn't a bad investment either. You will probably see that you won't be taking your car much further than 76-7800 rpms anyway for the best results. My motor on bttl with the p28 skunk2 pgm redlines at 9500 but I've never taken it past 7600. especially when my head was stock, not a good idea, anyone here will tell you that. if you got the loot, upgrade to just springs retainers and a mild cam. that will be worth the money and save you from floating valves easily to 8500. Remember, that **** gets real lean that high to so upgrade your fuel pump and inline **** to accomodate.
