I have 2 friends who have gs-r's and both had a problem with a rattling noise around 3000rpm. Took off all heatshields and such but cant figure out what it is,

anyone got an idea?

 

its most likely the header or exhaust manifold itself. . i guess they will just have to go aftermarket i have the same problem with my gsr.

 

yep. prolly the a-pipe. It has an inner pipe that when it comes loose vibrates with the outer piping. People either weld it or get a new header.

 

new header will solve the problem.......i think most integra owners go through that rattling noise becuase I went through it also, bought headers and rt cat, no rattling.

 

See part #6? That's the problem. It's impossible to remove without taking the whole exhaust manifold off. Might as well wait until you get an aftermarket header.

 

Your A-pipe is the problem. Go to your acura dealer. They replaced mine for free under warranty (saved $400). If i remember correctly your warranty on exhaust is 60k miles.

I took mine off while it was on :/ sawzall and 14 inch blade

 

I have a used A pipe that doesn't rattle. I was going to put it on my car but I opted to get a DC sports header.

I had that same problem.... it was my cat though and when I got a new one it went away

CHANGE THAT..... I Also got a header at the same time so, the rest of you are probably right.

 

Im not saying anyone is wrong, but im 99.99999% sure it is your a-pipe.
But i could be wrong.
