5 lug conversion: How much weight does it add?
Have any of you had your cars weighed before and after doing a 5 lug conversion? Approximately how many lbs did the conversion add?
Before I got my 5 lug installed, I thought it was just the bigger brake calipers and rotors that makes the 5 lug brakes heavier. But somebody told me that the knuckles and possibly the trailing arms are heavier as well. Can anybody confirm or reject the previous statement?

Thats a very odd question, why would you care what weight it add's to your car if going thru the trouble to perform the conversion... obviously the assemblies are going to be heavier being they are off a heavier car.
The brakes are bigger mass = weight. its probably a slight 20 pound jump from your stock set up, maybe a little more being your car comes with rear drums if I am correct.

can i ask u where u got ur conversion from. ive been looking for one and the few that i do find seem to be selling so high. i could have sworn that about 4 yrs (before the jdm craze) they were like 1200 with wheels. sorry, i didnt mean to jack the post.

Just like you said before they were in demand, expect to pay around 1500 for the entire setup.

Why is this an odd question? I just want to know approximately how much more the 5 lug setup weighs compared to a standard Civic (with rear drums) and if the knuckles and trailing arms are heavier than those on a standard Civic. (I hope the trailing arms aren't heavier, because then I should have just used my Civic trailing arms.)

What does "trap speed" mean? Anybody have solid weight approximations?

Do the USDM ITR and the CTR 5 lug conversion weigh the same, or is the USDM ITR conversion a little heavier? Just wondering, because the mechanic told me that my ITR trailing arms might be heavier than standard Civic arms. I'm wondering if the CTR arms and USDM ITR arms are the same. Or if the CTR arms are the same as USDM Civics, and the ITR arms are heavier.
