Default damage to rear bumper (insurance related)

My rear bumper was damaged, was the other persons fault. Their insurance adjuster came to look at it today, he quoted that it would cost about $450 to repair.

My question is, is it possible to repair the rear bumper? Some photos are below, but it's kinda hard to see...there are gouges and indentations in the bumper, and there is a slight crack by the license plate area.

So, I was just curious to see what other peoples opinions are on this...do you think the bumper should be replaced or can the bumper be repaired to be like new?

The Oem bumpers are urethane. They can be repaired.

As a matter of fact, I recently bought a used rear bumper. Its being sanded/ bondo'd and repaired now.

Just say it's a battle scar when someone asks about the bumper and put that 450$ to good use elsewhere .

well, from the pictures it looks repairable. They have some plastic body filler type **** they use on polyurethane and abs plastic bumpers at body shops. It obviously can't fix everything, but with the amount of damage on ur's i don't think it'd be that big a deal.

But with that said, what tilt said isn't all that bad an idea either.

If you have the money to fix it right go to acura and get a new bumper and just have the body shop paint over it.

thats usually the last resort for me. Just find a reputable autobody place, I recently discovered mobworks here in the orange county area. I too have some bumper damage ill probably head down there sometime for a quote.

hey, someone ran into my bumper on monday and my damage is similar to yours. Just a few scratches but a visible crack on the left side and the insurance quoted me $478.00 total for parts and labor. I'm not sure what im going to do b/c the damage isn't all that bad.
I'm wondering how much a 98-01 new or used rear bumper is and the cost to paint it so i can guage the price on my own.

Anybody have a red 98-01 rear bumper in good condition willing to sell for cheap?
