what would be a good powerful and cheep motor to put in my ef hatch that would be good to turbo in the future. thanks for your help.

I know of someone running a stock A6 at 10psi and it ran 13.5 in the 1/4mi with street tires and a slipping clutch. So that is something to think about.

 

if you are looking for a 10 second hatch , there is no good cheap motor to boost and go that fast. You didn't state if it was an SI but if it is and you want to keep the tranny the DOHC ZC is cheap and will handle some boost
