Anyone tried p30(jdmb16) pistons in a type r block , with b16 head.
supposedly this combination will get a you at 11.3:1, sound like a good combo. more compression than JDM ITR and a little less than CTR pistons. right in the middle. perfect.
anyone ever use these, what results and did you like it.
Gonna you this combo with a ported b16 head. Toda b's, and ITR manifold.
good idea huh.

I currently run the b16 slugs in a similar setup, but difference is an ls crank and I use ITR cams. The setup runs consistant 12.9s in a Eg hatch with blown rings. It would go faster considerably faster if the motor was fresh, but I bought it used. As far as power wise, I do not know, I never had it tuned on the dyno.
I personally love this setup. Supposedly the b16 slugs are the lightest of any b series piston, which for all motor is a big plus. If I decide to rebuild and stick to all motor, I would use the exact same setup, get some cams, and actually bring it to a dyno and tune it

if you were to use these pistons with the stock itr rods, you would need to add washers because the rods are 2mm narrower. also the toda b's like 12.0 comp. due to the large overlap. hth.
thats a good point, good looking out. so, in other words this why you need to shave some off if b16 rods to fit a type r piston on there.
what about p30's on stock ls rods.will the slide right on. no washers? do you have any idea of the compression and times that it would give on an ls
ortflow head, 3 angle valve job, ported and polish Crower dual valve springs and ti retainers Crower 404 cams Skunk2 Intake manifold JDM b16a tran. this is my current set up but it has a stock bottom end. ran a 13.8. where do you guys think the bottom end will put me at. oh yea and if any body has suggestions on what piston and rod combo i should run let me know.

gsr rods and itr are designed the same so they accept the same pistons. the p30 piston should fit right on a ls rod.
