Default engine harnes plug

i've gotta repin a few wires into empty spots in the plug. is there any way to seat the wire properly so it won't come out? the plug is black with what looks like a removable white piece inside. I figure that if i take out the white part I will see how to put the new wires in, but I'm scared i'm gonna pull something out I shouldn't when I take the inside of the plug out. Is this ok to do? thanks in advance.

repinning a connector isn't a big deal. there is usually a tab you need to pull back before you pull the wire out. if you pull the wrong wire, just push it back in to the connector and the plastic tab will lock it into place.

i am pretty sure the white piece is just added protection...
