My deck keeps popping out.... help
has this problem ever happined to you guys? well everytime i shift hard from 1st to 2nd my deck pops out of its place, is there any way to fix that problem? i searched i could not find any topics on this...
It's not installed correctly - there are tabs on the inside of the outer frame that you can bend with a flathead screwdriver to "catch" the edges of the deck - you should hear a click when it is in place properly.
Try making the wiring at the back of the deck more compact too (so you can push the deck in all the way).

if I'm correct u can also s have a screw mounted on a tab on the back of the deck? I did that with my deck to keep it in place and make it a pain to steal. another option is wrap the cables around the metal bar right behind the deck. There was an issue of the empty din beign kinda wobbly so we stick a load of post-it notes in there to keep it from jiggling.
Is it just the deck, or the whole dash kit???
Almost all the aftermarket dash kits are cheap ABS plastic and don't fit very well, and also have a habit of falling out of place when shifting hard or hitting bumps/railroad tracks....
I made a dash kit cause I didn't want the nasty filler pannel they supply, instead I made a gauge pod and a TV bezel out of fiberglass.
These aren't very good pictures, but you'll get the idea...I tried matching the texture of the dash, and it actually came out really nicely, just not in the picture.

Damn! I have the same problem... I installed mine with a generic plate, and it pops loose all the time. Isn't there a place where I can buy a quality deck plate? Does anyone know of any?
Try going to Circuit city and ask for their best kit. You might have to ask the guys in the install bay. I had a cheap one from best buy that I broke when I was at the track, I switched over and haven't had a problem since.
There are some that are better than others, but it's like picking the best poison...none of them are very good, just hope you get lucky.
I'd suggest getting some Fiberglass and making your own, or rigging the factory one, either way, it's not too tough....
Sorry....no instructions on how I did mine, didn't bother to make any, but if you're not good with fiberglass, I wouldn't recomend what I did any way. oh yeah, the TV is 5.5".

Water bottle.....that's great.....hahhaahaa
It's amazing the trouble people go through to avoid fixing a problem...not that a water bottle is very hard, but this just happens to be a good example....hahahahaha

Aftermarket dashkits are garbage, i tried both and they both SUCK!!!
I tried mounting a tv(clarion 6.6" tv) in the bottom and no-one made a kit for it, it always popped out and clips did nothing to hold it in...
I took three mini black tie straps and on the dash kit where the cd player mount i put them in there, slid teh cd player cover over top of the tie straps, strapped the tiestraps to the bottom of the oem plastic peice underneath where it fits into...cut the excess of the straps and its all toegther and not noticeable whatsoever...
Mine didnt come with oem cd player brackets so i had no other way of mounting it, but this works and lookd great. It only swings out the top on really hard ***** to second which it can be easily pushed in. Stays snug all the tim though...
Here is a pic..

I used to have one in my LS, I noticed the same thing. My old Kenwood KDC-7011 wasn't really random either, although it was only Audio discs. When I had like 25 punk songs, it'd keep hitting the same ones.
