This might be kind-of stupid, but...

Can anyone tell me why the 'hatch open' light on a CRX gauge cluster shows a car with its trunk open?

Or why the 'Check Engine' light shows an engine that looks nothing like a CRX's (or a Honda's, for that matter)?

I never noticed these things before

b/a it's easier for morons to see something that is relatively uniform from one manufacturer to the next

It's easier to determine what the light is trying to tell you that way I guess, lol...
