Any Idea when/if Toda Cams are no longer going to be produced for B Series Motor?
Well, with the production fo the new K series motors, I've had this fear/thought in my mind. Want these cams so bad, but living in the real world have prevent me from affording them. Almost done with school, should have some money in about a year, hoping these great bumpsticks will still be around. Anyone have any idea? Any help on this would be great.
Toda still makes stuff for the Toyota AE86 and older Honda products (B16A).
I doubt you have anything to worry about.

I agree, The only way they will stop making parts, if there is no demand anymore, and im willing to bet there is going to be a sh*t load of demand for a long time to come.

cams are different animals than most parts
Im not sure, but I would imagine toda cnc's the metal to make cam blanks (for model xx engine ie. b series) then they send it to the cam lathe to have the cam formed to their liking (spec a,b,c or d)
So as long as either they continue to making the cam blanks, you will still be able to get parts. because the cam lathe they use is universal for pretty much any cam.
unlike say a mugen intake, where the tooling or mold they have for the intake is only specific for the one mugen dc-2 intake. so if they sell or toss the mold, that part wont be available
edit: or you could actualy have your choice of toda cam measured than have a cam mfg make the same spec cam for you. it wont be cheap, but its possible

the funny thing is that IMO Toda needs to do more developing on the cams for K20 cause they tested some and didnt do that great ...

you probably didnt see that thread.
based upon what hondata said, it sounds like you need to have the head ported and have adjustable cam gears and get the tuned on the dyno.
no plug and play instant power with the todas on the k-series motor
