Default Sticky Hood Release

On my EF, releasing the hood is kinda tough. I swapped out the latch with another used one, and same problem. Don't see how it could be the cable though. Could it be the cable or the latch?

What do you mean by, "Tough"? Give a better explanation.

It takes more force to pull the release than it does on my sis's Accord and my friend's Integra. And both those other cars are cable releases too.

You probably have the hood too tight. Just open the hood, and turn the adjuster so that it comes out a little. The adjuster I'm talking about is the metal rod by the spring on your hoodlatch. It has a slot in it so that you can turn it. Turn it so that it comes out a little. That should do the trick.

On mine, there was a break in the cable It was so hard to open I had to use a pair of pliers to pull the wire to open the hood! And it wouldn't close half the time, either. After replacing the cable, it was nice and smooth again

You haven't pushed your rad support up by hitting a big bump or anything? What I do is I push down on my hood and then pull the release cable and it opens up ok...

Hahaha. I've seen a lot of EFs that had to do that. But not mine,...not yet.

Mine was like that too. I adjusted it, and now it opens without me having to do that.
