Default Timing OBD1 H22a- Don't have this helms- need advice

Hey guys, I have an OBD1 H22a and have never timed it. I was going to get my hands on a timing light tonight and see where it stands- anyway, what is the best setting for this? Where should it be set? I have a P13 ECM with spoon chip BTW. Any advice is welcome. thanks!

The procedure in the helm is to jump the service connector, start the car and let it idle. Turn the distributor until the No. 1 cyl is firing within the timing marks on the flywheel. 14deg off the top of my head. Who knows what the spoon (aka mugen) timing maps are though. They may be quite advanced already. I've seen several versions of that chip...

I just got the spoon ROM installed in mine.

Here is what I did.
1. Jump service connector
2. Warm up the car
3. Connect timing light up Mine timing (stock 16 degree. Look for the 3 timing marks on the flywheel the middle mark is where you want to be for stock) The spoon ROM did not chaning my timing. It was recommended to me to have the timing factory w/ Spoon ROM. Mild street application.

After the installation the engine starts quicker and idle smoother. VTEC kicks in lower and the car fells like it's pulling well mid range. I still have stock civic fuel pump and I plan to insstall an 255lph walbro before I dyno both stock ROM and Spoon to see the delta.

I don't have to disconnect the IACV? Or do I?

I get so tired of people being lazy about doing *their part* and getting the F%cking Helms manual. Instead they expect others to do the research.

Geez, do my part?? i did swap in an H22 in a civic.. that's pretty decent if ya ask me. I asked questions, but learned a whole lot. no need to get annoyed cuz I asked a question on a question board.
