Not automatically. The stereo head unit has to turn it on & off. Some stereos work that way, some don't.

There's a signal wire going from the head unit to the antenna, in addition to (+) and (-) power. I don't remember what color that wire is. You could interrupt that wire with a toggle switch, so you could force the antenna to retract any time you want.

Or you could turn off the stereo whenever you wanted to open the trunk...

I have a link at home for some guy's website who has made a switch for the power antenna. You only flick the switch when you want it to raise since most of the time you can pick up radio stations with it down or when you are listening to a cd. When I go home today I'll throw up the website.

I dont know much about the antenna getting caught on your spoiler. It sounds like the staff was already bent at that point.

The Integra antenna works as such. There are two wires that come from the factory antenna. One handles the signal and the other power.

What I have done is wire a switch on the antenna power line between the antenna and the head unit. Its a lighted toggle switch mounted on my center armrest. This will do the trick for you.

I had considered an s2000 or rubber antenna replacement but didnt want to forego reception over style.

Good Luck

Here's a visual of my switch. The lighted switch will require a ground.
