I've adjusted the low beam headlights already on my '89 CRX. I'm just wondering where the high beam adjustment is.

There're two other screws adjacent to the low beam height adjustment that I can't get to since I don't have an angled screwdriver. Are these the high beam height and horizontal adjustment screws?

Any tips would be great.

i think i only have one screw, and it lifts the whole headlight. i think i am not sure, but i think that is how my 91 hatch is. it should be just one screw

 

As far as I have noticed there is no high-beam adjusting to be made. As long as your low beams are aimed then the high beams should be just fine.

 

does everyones elses low beams stay on when you flip on the highs?

ive never seen a car do that before [on purpose]

Hey Trinity.

Freud, for some reason, my high beam headlights don't move up when I adjust the low beams. There's got to be some sort of horizontal adjustment too, right?

 

There is a horizontal adjutment screw located behind the headlight as shown here:



I'm not sure why the high beam would not also move when adjusting the lights for the low beam seeing how they are both in the same housing. How bad off is the high beam? Is it pointing stright down or way off to the side? I'm grasping for ideas here but at one time my driver side headlight was messed up to a point that the adjustment screw could not fix the problem and I managed to figure out that the locking ring on the back of the headlight was broken and was not holding the light bulb that goes inside the housing straight.

 

The high beams seem to be "flush" with the low beams when viewed at a distance of @ 30'. They're also off pitch horizontally to the right. The high beams have been useless at night, being aimed in the same position as the low beam and all.

I had a similar problem on my Legend, aiming the integral foglights. The fogs were aimed downwards after a front-end collision repair, and the body shop rep. told me that there was no way to aim the foglights unless the bumper was removed. Since the CRX's high beams are in the same position as the Legend's fogs, I thought that might be a possibility as well. I noticed that the 'rex may have been in a collision too. The passenger's headlight assembly is "pushed back" in its socket. Nothing major that seems to affect the beam pattern, but maybe there're some unknowns here.
