I've heard that the auto trannies are sort of weak... someone might be able to back this up but I only have a few 'word of mouth' sources.

I think the only company out there that makes internals for our F23's is gude and from what i've heard....they suck. I've searched constantly for something from companies like crane,crower,edelbrock,wiseco,eagle,arp....haven't come up w/ much. Most of it would have to be custom fabricated. The F-series kinda gets shoved to the side when it comes to internal's. But to the point, unless your gonna run crazy amounts of boost....the stock internals will be fine.

You could however check out http://www.levelten.com to build up your auto tranny. I have a 98 auto and I plan on doing that before anything major to my engine.

BTW - What kind of turbo setup are you running?

should you get internals? how much are you boosting? the stock parts are only so strong, and will only stand up to so much before they fail. A lot of people run 6 - 8 lbs on stock internals just fine. some blow them up almost immediately. tuning is crucial.

I don't think gude makes internals, just headwork and cams. I'm not certain but i think that only pistons, rings, rods and the crank are considered internals.

I ~think~ crower makes rods. I know somebody makes pistons, I just can't remember who right now

10-11 psi tuned is about the max I would say you could run the stock lower end.

The tranny's in the 98-02 do suck. Honda has a 100,000 mile extended warranty on them from the factory. I had a 2001 v6 coupe and they sent the warranty update in the mail to me after I had owned my accord for a year and said that there were transmission problems.

i owned a '94 accord up until last year (some drunk lady decided to hit me from behind with her yukon ), but the tranny on that car went at 130,000 miles, and i've heard that all honda automatic trannys are kinda weak

OK lets get some facts stait.
for Fseries turbo, the auto trannys are not that weak they can take about 60-70%more power! the question is for how long....
Many people run turbo D16 auto and have been successful just as long as they don't SMASH on the pedal every time & take car of it.

Fseires can take about 13psi with any decent standalone; fully tunned.
the rods can propbably take like 16psi. It's the pistons that you should worry about first. But since you have an auto, you don't have to worry about internals.
Stick with 5-6psi and your tranny should be fine.

pistons can always be ordered from JE (custom) ..not too much more
crower does make rods for th Fseires
cams?... the only place i know of is Exopseed.com
people don't make a lot of aftermarket internals for the Fseires because in the drag scene barely anyone goes with the Fseries route(except Bisi)
There are better platforms like the Hseires.

I don't think anyone makes a manifold for the F23 yet? unless they have the same ports as the F22?

Yeah, thanks . It seems that everyone is running on partial information when it comes to F-series motors.

I think someone on HS was running a F23 turbo from F-Max and he's getting like 14's? I think there are more 5th gen. Accords boosting, however. And a lot more are spraying nitrous. Maybe you can pay a visit to that forum and learn more.
