Pivot shift light wiring questions
First of all, I have a 97 ex coupe if that matters for my question...
I am thinking of buying the pivot shift light, and all I can find is the one that plugs into the cigarette lighter. Anyway, can I just cut the wire that leads to the plug, and splice it into the cigarette lighter power wire??
My logic says that this would be the same as always having the shift light plugged in, but i dont have the ugly plug sticking out.
I want this to look as stock as possible, so if anyone has any pics of really clean installs, or mounting ideas for the control box or the light, let me know. Thanks!!
My idea is to get a piece of carbon fiber and mount the control box in that, and put that in the change holder next to my radio controls.
Let me know what you think.

Yes you can splice it, I've seen it done before, and it works fine. I never did, just left mine plugged in, as I never use the cig lighter. I taped the controller inside the glove box, and the light fits in front of the speedo on my dash, it's wedged in, didn't have to drill any holes or tape it
Thanks for the fast replies you guys!!
I was pretty sure i was right, but I do not have really any experience installing electronics in cars, but I like to think that I have a decent grasp on the logic required to understand that kind of thing.
So does anyone have any pics of clean installs??
Thanks!!
