Question for the Autocrossers and Open Track Day individuals: What pads are you running and how well are they working for you?
Second Item: I was speaking with Larry at CarboTech and I mentioned this website and he immediately (and unsolicited, I may add) stated that he would offer a group buy to this website.
This is what I was thinking:
Replace my front brake disks (needed) with Brembo OEMs (~$50 each) and use CarboTech XP-8 pads for street/autocross/open track. I was told that they would be noisy (I don't care) and dusty (not that concerned), but they are supposed to be brake disk friendly and at $50 each it's not that big of a concern. Larry, of CarboTech, also informed me that they need some temp to work, but they work "better than OEM" when cold. The XP-8 pads have a ceramic compound in the material and are rather heat resistant.
Comments? Suggestions? Experiences?

Currently using Cobalt GT-R.spec VRs on fronts and stock in the back.
Extremely satisfied with the braking performance and it's fade resistance (a.k.a. none at ITR Expo 3). That and the fact that it seems that the dust isn't corrosive like other track compound pads will make me purchase another set when they're worn out.
For the street/autocross, I'll be running Cobalt GT Sport front with the rears going on before Summit Point (currently still have the Cobalt VRs on front for street duty
).
