thanks for the reply. it is much appreciated. i'll look for it tonight.
do u just spline the wires together? how do u connect a tach if u dont have a tach on your car already? which wire do u connect it to?
The car should be prewired for a tach. On my 97 Dx, the wire is a blue wire on the farmost left side of the cluster, there was two wires, so i spliced both, and tested out the tach with each one, and one worked (the one farthest to the left)
i dont get it, what does splicing actually refer to? is it just when u cut the insulation from 2 wires and connect them?

that is what i refer to it as at least. and tapping into the wire means connecting two wires without cutting either of them. this is accomplished by using a wire tapper.

same here, i don't know much about electronics as well. only things that i put in that are electronic are my stereo and turbo timer. but, you tap into a wire by using these plastic things called wire tappers. you could buy it any hardware store. what you do is, put the wire that you new wire you're trying to tap on top and the wire you want to tap into on the bottom. after that, pull the plastic cover over the metal piece and squeeze them together. the metal will puncture both wires and they will be connected by the metal piece. hope this helps.
icic, i got it! thanks boostedeg....so its like a series connection.
i learned all this stuff in physics last year, but all the terms are different haha. i guess this is more slang and the physics way is scientific
