Default OT: Am I asking to much for my Type R?

Sorry for the OT post but I've been having trouble selling my 2001 PY ITR. I think I may be asking to much. What do you guys think? The car is also on autotrader and I was thinking about E-bay.

I'd say you are selling for too much.

Too many different prices w/ different mods, etc. (i.e., confusing)

IMO, If you got 20K for the car with all the mods it has right now AND it was painted from the key mark you talk about, I'd say that is pretty good. Either decide to sell the car with all the mods or none. You can always sell the mods on here or elsewhere to make some of your money back.

It seems like ITRs sell better when they're as close to stock as possible.

I think it's a tad higher than what others are selling it for but good luck. Maybe advertise outside HT.

I agree, sell the car in stock form. You can always make some money back selling your parts on h-t, ebay, etc. Good luck..

Alright I'll edit the post and put the car back to stock. I really don't think it would be worth taking out the ATS final drive though. I'll lower the price to 20k and see what happens.

I would say leave the FD in the car, too much work/not worth it.

Yeah put it back to as close to stock as possible, then sell all the parts on H-T. Lowers the price for the buyer a bit, and you still make your $$. A tad bit more hassle though, but probably worth it in the end.

Good luck with the sale

bring it back to stock form and you will have no trouble selling your R. Just be patient, a buyer always comes around.

goodluck with the sale and sorry to see you part with the ride

if you can just show up to any auto-x events with FOR SALE sticker on your car, maybe it will get its attention.

personally, Id just sell the car as is. you dont have any crazy mods that would deter people form buying. If they were skeptical about a particular part that you had installed, but had the chance to drive the car and it drove nicely, then I dont see a problem with the mods you have. anyone that knows anything about the ITR would know that the ATS and flywheel are damn good mods for the car (ATS not so much if you drive highway a lot ) and would save them the hassle of getting it installed later on. just my 2 cents. good luck

i paid 20K for my 2000 about a year and a half ago with 18000 miles on it.. and that was the cheapest I've seen with that kinda mileage. It was selling for more but got it lowerd cus it was a friend.

My cousin recently purchased a 2001 nhbp with 16,000 miles for 18,500. He paid 13,000 cash plus traded in his civic. He got a really good deal though.

I was going to paint for the key mark but people wonder why the car is painted. So I wanted to give people the option of painting so they know that the car was painted for JUST a key mark not for an accident. What do you think of that theory?

paint it.. if anyone asks about painting, explain the key mark.. that's my opinion anyhow..

No! Sell it for the highest price you want unless you want to unload it fast or have no offers.

but if he paints it, he can't really add the paint job to the overall cost which may not make sense to do.

So he is asking $19.5k stock unpainted and painting costs $2300

It won't make sense to try to sell a painted ITR for nearly 22k.

that exactly what I was thinking. I have no problem painting the car for a potential buyer. If the buyer wants it painted then I will get it painted. But if they figure they can live with it or find a cheaper price then I can subtract it from the price. People love when you lower the price of a car and 2300 is a good deduction

Don't paint it. Just sell as is (exterior wise). Remove the easy bolt on stuff and sell it.

If the buyer is that **** about a little key mark, he shouldn't be buying an ITR in the first place.
