what if oil gets low during break in
same thing happened to me, i drove real nice the first 1k miles, then i was off to an autox. i burned about a quart of the "break in" oil, acura said to just use conventional 5w30 - i used castrol gtx.
Edwin, I debated and debated and then debated some more as to how should I answer this,
Well here it is!!!: Fill it up...
Nah seriously, I had some oil loss or burn on my fist PYR. I used about a quart of oil between purchase and the first oil change at about 3750 to 4K miles. It could have been due to breakin and also since I bought it during the colder winter months. I called my Acura tech and he told me to stop by for some Honda oil SAE 5W30. So thats what I did. I checked the oil every time before I started the car and adjusted the level accordingly. at or just under the top mark, and always cold and on a leval surface.
Now my new NBP is different and I can't explain why, Ok maybe I can. I kinda drove my PY quite zealously before the first change. The NBP on the other hand I didn't even hit Vtec till after 1000K miles, and I have babied my her till the first change "Well not really but, I have treated her a little nicer."
Good luck, with your petroleum woes...
