filling in the molding holes

Default filling in the molding holes

my buddy is getting a paint job soon and wants to fill in those holes when you take off the moldings(btw, he has a 95 eg)...what did some of you guys do to fill it in(bondo?)?

Put sheet metal behind the door so that it is against the hole on the inside. Then put layers of bondo on the hole (that's now covered up from the inside with sheet metal) until the bondo is a little higher than the rest of the molding. Sand down till even. Wala. You should not use all bondo when shaving the moldings though, but in your case, or his case, using bondo for the little hole is aOK IMO. Hope this helps a little.

weld the holes plz
your friend will regret using bondo when it cracks out later on
these are pretty big rectangular holes not small wing holes

Yeah, now that I think about it, weld them. Just be sure not to warp the door.
