Default STARTER PROBLEMS... with new flywheel

ok my old start had some problems with not starting so i changed it after i got my clutchmaster flwheel and clutch installed.. everything is torqued to spec. Then I recently bought a kragen starter which is GRINDING my flywheel!! it's pissing me off! it sometimes starts and most of the time it grinds my freakin new flywheel... I went back to kragen and tried another one but it does the same thing.

now... is it a POS starter that's causing this problem??

I already returned the starter and I'm about to order a remanufactured one at the honda dealership... what do you guys think about my problem before I order one?

please let me know soon! thanks!

Well, uhm, If the starter is grinding your flywheel, the teeth don't have the right dimensions so you need to change brands of starters.

a good friend of mine had the same problem with his clutchmasters flywheel. from what ive read on hondasociety, it seems that he was not the only one with the problem. he switched to a JUN flywheel and has had no problems since.

i know this is one of my old threads.. but here's an update..

It looks like it was my flywheel that was giving me starting problems. I tried out at least 4 new starters and they all had the same results.. I took out my flywheel the other day and sent it back to clutchmasters today. so hopefully i'll get a new one soon..

I don't want to do free publicity, but anyhow, I didn't experience problems with my UR Ultra L. Of course the price tag came with.
