Default ITR cams on GSR stock valve train.....how high to rev?

I have a set of ITR cams in my GSR engine and i am running a JDM ITR ECU which has rev limit set at 8500rpm (i think 9000 rpm) on the tach seeing it's off at those engine speeds. The stock GSR has a rev limit of 8000. I want to know what is the highest people have reved to SAFELY with a similar setup? I have gone as high as 8300rpm (tach indicated) thus far but i want to know how much further i can push with the stock valve train. Thanks!

I wouldnt go any further. I think the GSR rev limit is 8200, and that is probably pushing it.

Like youngvedder said I wouldn't go past 8200rpm until you upgrade the valvesprings to atleast ITR.

i have ITR cams with a my stock GSR valvetrain. i only rev it to the stock GSR Redline, but i wouldn't want to go any higher than the stock GSR limit. i did hit the limiter one time cause i forgot that i had put in a ITR gauge cluster and i was thinking i was going to shift at the ITR redline but there was no damage done, since it still was limited by the stock GSR ECU.

dyno your car and see if you still make power past 8000 rpm. If yes, then consider upgrading valvetrain. If not, stay with stock settings.

i have the itr cams with the itr inner springs on the intake and the gsr inners on the exhaust. I was under the impression this is the same as the itr. I have only taken it to 8100. Should I be able to take it much higher?

I wonder if my tach is off. I have a JDM ITR cluster and I constantly take it to the very 1st marking of the redline. 8400 RPM.

Last time I dynoed the guy took it to the redline on my ITR cluster and blipped it of the revlimiter. He only said it was 300rpms off.

w/ stock internals and just bolt ons w/ my CTR cams mine made peak power untuned at about 7800 rpms (this is where power felt like it was rolling off) so I'd shift mine at 8000 or 8200 rpm and now higher. I had chipped my P72 and set my redline w/ an MSD 6AL

i wouldnt take it over the stock redline till you upgraded your valvetrain... last thing you need is valvetrain piece to let go

...Just ask yourself if its worth replacing parts. If it is then you have mad cash and should be hit with a . If not then dyno the car and find out for sure. Id be safe and take it to GSR redline. Don't do something your going to regret

it doesn't, the manifold is needed because and itr ecu won't open the butterflies valve in the gsr manifold
