Default rsx type-s swap into a base RSX?

Well, from myself being a dumbass, I mis-shifted my RSX base and blew the motor, so being out $10k for a new motor and used motors are gonna run me $4k reguardless of the a2 or a3 I have decided to try to make the most out of a bad thing and upgrade the motor.
Now, from what I can tell from some various info around the web http://tech.hybridgarage.com/t....htm this for an RSX would be basically a plug and play swap. Engine/tranny, ecu, cat, and 6 speed gearshift would be all I relly need.
any of you tech-heads out there see any other foreseeable issues?

I am not the Famous"posted all over the net, exploded my type S" guy.
I am the 10513 rpm in a base stupid mis-shift from 3rd to 4th instead going into second while merging guy.
anyway, well the reason is simple, If I am gonna pay 6 grand to fix my engine, for the same I can do the swap...maybe even a lil less....beleive it or not.

damn....first time ive heard of this happening in a base..at least in the S the gates are kind of close

The A2 should go right in tho, all im assuming youll need is the motor, tranny and ECU.

alright BUT the original question is not being answered
is it as simple as plug and play?
no major overhaul? just pull out the old motor/tranny and ECU
put in new motor tranny and ecu and good to go?

i don't know some one said we have to take our engine out from the botton of the car... so that means you have to higher ur car at the shop and take it out from the bottom .. and B4 u do dat.. u have to take out all ur front suspension..... .. and i think after that you could PLUG and play......

nod if you click the link in my original post, it pretty much walks you through the swap with an Si civic Hatch....I imagine it would be identical on the rsx

I had 15847 Km on it so just under 9000 miles.

Mis-shift in a 5-speed? It's possible. I can admit I've done it a few times too many but I've never had the RPMs over 10k... not even over 8k with a 6,800 RPM redline.

I don't think it's about experience more than how familiar you are with your gearbox. If you do the AR/A2 swap, you've just increased your chance for another mis-shift so don't make the same mistake twice. By all means I think you should do a swap but be a lil' more careful.

How many miles did you have on your A3?

It should be a pretty easy install, well some what. But for the money you are going to spend on the swap you can get a integra Type R (DC5R) complete swap for around 5k. That is going to be the same price for a S motor as well. If you are going to do it, you might as well do it right. For more information on the R motor go to. http://www.jdmhondaparts.com

Good luck bro
