Default Test pipe/High flow cat ?

hey was sup, I am new here. I have a 99 V6 accord. I am going to be putting on dual world sport exhaust. My question is since the WS is known for being "quiet" should I put on a test pipe or high flow cat? Is it really worth the test pipe/high flow with stock exhaust manifold? or should I just wait till I get OBX headers?

thanks

you car prolly will throw a code when you put on the Test pipe.
if you are getting a header then wait up and have them install at once..

stick with high flow cat

with a test pipe , youll have CEL issues, also its bad for envirment and not only that, if your ever get tested for emissions your screwed:

high flow are carb and epa ok

I'm sorry but I don't understand your logic fully. Why exactly are you adding a high-flow cat or test pipe just because you're getting a quiet WS exhaust? If it's sound you're concerned with, get a louder exhaust! I mean, there are exhausts out there that perform about as same as the Apex'I WS but are a bit louder. For example, the Greddy EVO is the closest competitor to the WS that people often make comparisons to.

And the AV6 can use some good headers so if you got $300 or more, I'd put on OBX or better headers. After that, put in your exhaust (WS or whatever) and after 2 weeks, see if you can stand the sound. If you can withstand it, then get a high-flow cat. Your car will get louder with the new cat, of course. But a new cat may not be worth the cost. They cost like $2xx - $3xx and may or may not give you enough power upgrade to justify the cost. Also, with a WS exhaust and high-flow cat, your car may still be pretty quiet. I never seen this setup in person, but on paper, it looks that way.

Why are you hoping I'm not saying the aftermarket cats go for around in the $200 to $300 range?

i am saying that a carsound is carp approved and epa ok: and runs 80 bucks for their weld/universal system and 150ish for a flanged bolt up version:
even random tech isnt that much more 160-180ish!!

i am hoping that your not paying that much for a high flow cat LOL.. if so, i got a big bag of natural fresh air in this coke can , i ll sell you:

Nice, your prices are good. The RT cats on groupbuycenter.com go for around $220 so I figured the retail could be around up to $300. But your prices are way lower than GBC.

So which is better? Carsound or RT? Which gives more performance and which less trouble with the CEL? Thanks! Maybe when I *ahem* damage my stock cat, I can buy one from you.

What is a test pipe and what does it do for an exhaust system?

Is it just a straight pipe to replace the cat, something that in theory you would put on a car when using a dynomonitor to see what your car is really doing before the cat is put on?

test pipe=same **** as stright pipe but it's low tech
it's a direct replacement of the cat but it lack of all the honey comb aka save a tree cataylic system in it. It often have a oxygen sensor housing

i got on for the turbo accord..

heh - jus' don't ever get cited for a test-pipe/straight-pipe in California. It's something like a $1100+ ticket. Big no-no...

That apexi exhaust is sweet. I've seen my buddy with his on his 2000, and he loves it. The hi flow cat helps, but the test pipe is much better. Custom 3" header back is ultimate. Check out http://www.9secondracing.com, that is where my buddy has found some of the sweetest deals.
