Default How much is an adequate amount of depth on brake pads???? (BB6-H22A)

I'm going to be participating in a Solo Trials event on Sat and Sun of next week. My SCCA region is really concerned that people have an adequate amount of depth on their break pads. Currently I have stock rotors and stock break pads with 5-6 mm of depth on them. Is this enough or should I be concerned.

I kind of think that our SCCA region is covering their bases, and making sure that people have good breaks and break fluild, b/c the track we'll be running on is notorious with breaks.

BTW I've ran on this track before, 15-20 consecutive laps no problem on stock rotors and pads. And I have a 98 Prelude.

DR. and Honda318dx feel free to ring in.

put on a fresh set of pads, keep those around as backup - remember the thinner the pad, the hotter your fluid is going to get

I'm some what new to pads. So what's the the depth on new pads? (average for all cars, not mine specific) And yeah if I'm going to be paying $90 for the two days then new pad would probably be worth it. (don't wanna go there and get kicked out)

Depends on the pad. 16mm+ is pretty much brand new.

I run my pads down to the backing plates, and then some on occasion... Don't try this on a poorly bonded pad though.

Also, the thinner the pad, the faster they will wear.
