I think my buddy's R might not really be one, it has the b18c5, fontend and rear, but around the hood the weather striping has gloss Black body paint on it from over spray and almost all the vents and center console+the door window switch's are falling out. There is no Type R arm rest tag (removed) inside the door the paint color is silver, But in my eg hatch its the same as extiror. Sorry for the book just what do u guys think.

Sounds fake.

 

Look at the lower control arms in the rear, they are bigger on the ITR I think.

Edit: see if the VIN on the motor matches the VIN on the windshield.

Silver inside the door doesn't sound good. Does it have map lights on the interior? A brace against the back of the inside of the hatch? Those are two random things to check (since ITR's have no map lights and do have a brace in the hatch).

 

That sucks, where did he buy it, how long ago, and how much did he pay?

 

I'm interested in how this turns out.

One almost for sure way to check is the map lights. If it does not have them, it could very possibly a type r.

If the VIN's on the engine match, it was probably wrecked real good and got some LS/GS doors.

 

Any word on the VIN yet, the accident thing might be true, he just used LS or GS door. But check the VIN to make sure
