Default Rattling between 3-4k rpm. Heat shield?

I recently installed a B18C1 motor in my car and I have been getting this rattle when I drive the car between 3k and 4k rpm. I did a search and came up with nothing. Does anyone know what it is and how can I fix it? BTW it went in a 95 Civic ex coupe.

I had the same problem when I got my b18c1. I thought it was one of the heat shields somewhere, so I took them all off. But that didn't work either. Eventually, I got some new headers, and the problem went away. So, it could be the headers.

B18C1?

I'm betting that the tubes inside your A-pipe have come loose. You'll need to get yourself another OEM exhaust manifold, or buy yourself a nice aftermarket header.

This is most likely the section that has broken:

i just had the same problem on my hatch the past week. I thought it was the heat shied for the header, nope. So i jacked up the car and it was the heat shield for my exhaust, it's in the front and you can't miss it. It's a metal piece that's sitting on top of your exhaust, just get something you can pry it off with.

B18C1 OEM downpipes have inherant problems with internal rattles. Take it off, an tap it with a hammer. See if it makes a buzzing metal sound. If so, you have found the noise. Get a new downpipe, or aftermarket header.
