Ran a search, I know its out there, but I'm just not finding it.

I know that it doesn't really help in straight line, I just can't remember the technical reasoning why.

the stock itr lsd is not a "locker" if you will. it only locks about %50 on acceleration and freewheels under deceleation. that is why people like to run the kaaz or A.T.S. clutch type lsd's. those are %98 locking using the standard clutch material. A.T.S. just came out with a carbon lsd, and it is much quieter and gentler on the street. BUT, it is very expensive. god willing, i will have one soon.....

Actually if both tires spin the R one is 0% locking. It is based on torque like any gear type LSD and so doesn't work properly unless one or both tires have traction. Here try this link and look up LSD: http://www.howstuffworks.com/

Ahhh,

Thanks for the info. I had read posts about the ITR lsd not being as "aggressive" and this is why I had gone with the KAAZ. I love the thing, but it is a bit of a PITA with all the noise...

I had driven a couple of cars with ITR lsd and it def makes a nice difference, but my KAAZ does seem to be doing "more."

Is the Quaife similar in perf to the KAAZ? If so, I would go that route now since the price is much better than before and it has the lifetime warranty with much less maintenance than the KAAZ.

I think that the Quiafe is better because its torque biased.
