windshield wipers (not blades but whole wiper) is all over the place
Now, i've had this problem for a while now, and I decided to tinker with it. I couldn't find anything in the helms manual so i thought i'd turn to you guys. When my windshield wipers are on they will either hit each other or they will over extend, sometimes they do a combonation. It really sucks and I want them to be normal. Now it's not that they are not on properly, because my wiper arms are on securely and they are on properly. I got the hood and wiper arms off and i got that plastic piece off. Please tell me what to do, cause I have no clue. Thanks a lot.
take off both bolts for the wiper arms. there should be 1 10mm bolt on each arm. take the arms right off. then turn the wipers on, and then back off, then just put the wiper arms back on at the position they should be at while they're not on. See if that helps at all, if it doesnt, i really have no idea.

Did you get the proper size bladess? Maybe you got some longer ones and thats the problem!</TD></TR></TABLE>
It's not the wiper blades that is the problem it's the actual gears or something, because they have way too much play in them. It's really annoying. About taking them off and letting them cycle thru and then turning them off, that doesn't work. But thanks for the idea. Anybody else got any ideas?

And about the motor, so you think I could have a bad motor? Does nobody else have/had an assload of play in their wiper arms? Thanks.

bringing back from the dead because mine does this too. Its not the wiper blades. Sometimes the wipers will go all the way down but sometimes my driver side sticks about 3-4 inches up on the windshield. It has play in the wiper arm itself. Do you think a new wiper arm would fix this where the threads could be stripped? Or do you think its something with the rods under the plastic cowl panel....
the motor sits on the far pass side, There is a rod that goes from the motor to the firt arm, and another rod that conects both arms... Look at the rods and make sure they are properly connected, They are under that black plastic sill and you have to remove to plates to access them...

Bringing this back because I am having the same problem and the dealership wants to charge me over $400.00 to fix it.

Mine used to do the same thing, just take off the blades, remove the cover at the bottom of the windshield and check the linkage from the motor to the arms and b/w the arms. The ends of the rods are plastic and are probably worn or broken. Replace them, problem solved.
The plastic connector on the 2 linkages that are under the cowel are most likely worn out, just go to Honda and get these 2 linkages ( can't get just the plastic clips ) , pry the old ones off with a screwdriver and snap the new ones on. Not worth getting from a junk yard, they will wear out soon it they aren't already.

You 2 are exactly correct. The dealership said the linkages were warn out. I have the blades and plastic off. I looked at it before I took it to the dealership but I didn't think that I could fix it on my own. It seems like it is a real tight area to get into. Does anyone have pictures or a write-up?

no pictures, no writeup, but if you purchase the replacement parts, you can tell where to place a flat screwdrive to pop off the old ones. Now all you have to do is snap on the new linkage, there is plenty of room to do this. Really a simple fix and important if you want to stay safe in your ride. Good luck,
