Default itr head vs si head...I forget =/

I remember reading something about certain valve springs in the b16a2 head being the same as b18c5 springs. Does anyone remember which? The post was on swicthing springs in an si head (intake to exhaust or visa vera) and putting itr springs in place of the one swicthed. (itr>intake intake>exhaust exhaust>trash or this with the exhaust side =/) I have searched and haven't been able to find a post on this. Thanx Also if someone has time can they give me just a raw comparison of the b16a2 head vs the b18c5 head? Thanx all!!

the b16a head and the type r head are basically the same thing, the type r having upgraded cams and valvetrain, with a mild port and polish. thats basically it.

thats why you create a "poor mans type r" by putting a b16 head on a GSR block, and it will throw down numbers similar to the type r.

yes but dont forget putting just the head would drop compression.
you'd need upgraded pistons atleast.

doesn't the B16 have the smallest bowl? Or are you saying the GSR psitons relative to ITR pistons would creat a lower comp ratio?

GSR head has the smallest combustion chamber volume = highest compression.

I checked your link-it looks like GSR and B16a use the same LMA-14820-P30-010. They use color coding on their chart, same color = same part #.
