Default chipped my lip!!!! carbon fiber question

mann... i was taking my little sister to work and i see this black plastic thing in the road. In my mind, i was going.. *AHHH NOOOO!!!!*... there was nothing i could do.. cars were in the other lane... so i run over that damn ****** and even drag it for a few seconds

anyways, a piece of the clear coat broke off (about an inch long) leaving the carbon fiber weaves visible and touchable... so my question is where can i buy the glass clear coat thats on top of carbon fiber?? any of you guys have specific names of products? Thanks.

super glue will fix it. I used it to fill a chunk of gelcoat that came off my old Integra's hood.

Damn, same thing happened to me, but on the freeway. The cf was exposed, and it was pretty bad so I gave up on it. Not sure if you can get a body shop to do it for under 50-100 bucks, might not be worth it.

Just use clear nail polish and put it on... it will protect it, or if you wanna get technical i lined the bottom of my lip with hard plastic, like the stuff bed liners are made from found on the back of trucks.

surfboard resin/table top resin. its an epoxy type resin thats used to make surfboards and table tops. this is the same stuff they use for CF. fiberglass resin is NOT the same, so dont even try that. if u get some of this stuff, mix it up and apply it on liberally. sand lightly to smooth it out going from about 600grit to 2000 grit and wet sanding, it should be fixed. a lot of work is involved, but if u could do it your self, go for it. you should see my CF lip, its cracked to hell, but i dont care.

haha it does build character. ill be fiberglassing mine soon and painting it black to match my car. CF is too hard to maintain, especially when its so shiny..
