Default 68mm or 70mm

What goes better with a full race set up for all motor, 68mm or 70mm. Which company has the best one.

I assume your talking about a throttlebody. For """FULL RACE""" go with ITB's or carbs.

There are several different brands which are all good, check this forum for a thread about ITB's that was recently started, it has some good info.

If your not going """FULL RACE""", then the throttlebody must match the application, mild 1.6-1.8L apps should use anywhere from 60-65 while more extreme 1.8-2.0+ setups should use 67-70mm, turbo apps can go with 72-74+...the bigger the TB, the more throttle responce you loose.

Full Race, then check out the ERE 72mm. It opens at 72, and tapers down to 70.

The bigger the better, the more air you can bring in, the more fuel you can give it, the more power you will make.

70mm for sure if you're upgrading the head, im, etc to be "race" without going itb. check out http://www.andrewsimportperformance.com and http://www.speedmachineracing.com for 70mm STR throttle bodies.

Excellent point.

Engine size, Intake Manifold Plenum size, etc. are all determining facotrs.

Going to big will increase the intake volume at the expense of reduced the intake velocity. Some of the fastest all motor setups are running very close to stock bore on the plate side.
