Default Discrepency with Apex WS exhuast on GS-R?

I just swung by my local import tuner shop and was asking about getting a deal on an exhuast and header at the same time. I was set on the Apex WS after researching a little and reading reviews from the people on this board. But when I got there, I noticed a discrepency. The guy I talked to said that the WS is designed for Low to Mid power, and he would recommend it to an LS because they don't have vtec. I saw it printed in the apex catalog. But on Apex's website it says the characteristics are mid to high end power. So which is it? People with the Apex on GS-R, what do you think? Can you feel the power throughout the powerband? Or should I start considering other exhuast systems? Suggestions?

just buy the exhaust...u'll get the 1-3 hp it should give you...just hope its over ur whole power band...and its semi true...the WS won't give u as much topend power as the N1 but its really good looking and quiet...and better then stock....also consider the type R muffler too...

What are my other options? I am still thinking about going with this exhuast, but I was also looking at the greddy SP and the Tanabe Hyper Medallion. How do these exhuasts compare in all aspects including size, style, sound, and power?

Or would one of the other Apex exhuasts fit my needs? How loud is the dunk? I've heard good and bad about this exhuast. Is it too big for me if I'm looking for something that isn't too aggressive. I'm looking for something that looks cleaner than stock.

Not too aggressive + cleaner than stock = A'PEXi WS

The A'PEXi Dunk is definitely an aggressive looking exhaust. It's also a lot deeper than the WS...and of course louder.

Don't waste your time with ITR exhuast. It looks stock and thats what it is. I see no imporvement what so ever wiht mine. I esentially paid 150 bucks to get a different tip. The muffler shop told me that the part number on the ITR wast he same as my LS Muffler. No better sound or performance, Don't know what the crap everyone else is talkin about. ALthought my car is Turbo, everyone told me that the ITR had better flow and i hoped that would help my spoiling time. nope.

I want the WS, but not if it's power isn't across the powerband of a gsr. So back to my original question... is the WS for low to mid power or mid to high?

I would believe the website over any shops here in town...

That is where they probably get most of their info anyway (wrong or right)!

The thing is, it was printed in the apex catalog as low to mid, and on the apex website as mid to high...

If I could do it all over again, I wouldn't have given up on my search for a Type-R muffler for cheap...If you're all about looks and sound, I guess it's worth it. But, performancewise, I don't think you will notice a difference...maybe a little bit more flow..Hopefull it'll help when I have my GSR supercharged..
