Clifford GPS
Looks to be a brand new product.
I bought the Alpine GPS based "Mobile Mayday" system 3 years ago - thinking that it would be well supported since Alpine is a big well-known company.
Guess what? - they discontinued the product in 2001 - and now the GPS coverage goes offline this year. So if I was you I would look for a company with a track record of providing this kind of service before you buy. As for me I can kiss a $2000+ investment good bye.
Other observations:
1) GPS systems draw quite a bit of current - especially if you park underground. If you park underground or in a concrete garage - the GPS system constantly seeks GPS coverage (kind of like a cell phone will) - which draws current. This will drain your battery in about a week if you don't drive your car much (ask me now I know).
2) Be aware of 3rd party GPS monitoring companies (and their monthly fee). I bet you Clifford does not do their own monitoring. Dealing with bill enquiries can be a pain in the *** (ask me how I know).
Overall the systems do work very well. I can be located anywhere in N.A. - have my ignition cut off, and have 2-way radio service (like OnStar) with the concierge at the touch of a button. They can also remotely open my doors and honk the horn.
Technology is good - but only if the public adopts it.

Try the GPS2000 system from Omega Research who have been around since 1971.
I think that this is a better product, better coverage, longer track record and likely cheaper than the Clifford system.
It also lets you check the status of your car online like the Clifford system.
