Default STR cam gears...

I was wondering who was running the str cam gears on their b series motors in here. I'm probably going to pick some up from my friend this week and i just wanted to see how everyone liked them.

Did a search and was wondering whats the best timing to set them at.

Thanks, John

regardless of what gears tyou have on, there is NO best setting. you need to dyno.

If you're refering to the new goldseries, I have them and I like them (the timing marks take a little getting used to). BTW mine are set at 0 & 0 until I go to the dyno.

the main thing i'd worry about while buying cam gears is if they'll stay tightened.. ive heard lots of horror stories about gears coming loose and motors being destroyed because of it.

every car reacts to changes differently. what makes power at a certain setting on a friends car may not make power on yours. go to the dyno to really see what settigns WORK FOR YOU** .

I use Skunk2's cause I'm a Skunk2 ***** but a friend of mine has been using the STR's for about 6 or 7 months, no problems at all. His tuner didn't have any problem working with them on the dyno. My roommate just bought a set, they look like good quality to me.
