Who can count how many things are wrong with it, besides the whole, y'know, missing everything bit? If it is a legit ITR shell, then I'd maybe consider it, but I'm thinking it might not be... I counted four things that were iffy.

I considered this, and from what I know of ITR VINs it matches ok, but if he's pulling that number off the dash, it could just be that an ITR dash was thrown in there. I'm certainly not local, is anyone else? The VIN is stamped somewhere on the firewall or something isn't it?

It's an ITR.

VIN # is from an ITR.

An ITR ABS unit is clearly visible in the pictures also.

Too bad there are never cars for sale like this around here.

I recognized the ABS unit, and is that specific to the R, as in the GSRs unit looks different? It just might be time to bid then...

Edit: Of course, I'll have to find a bag of cash first...

this must be the first time dealing with a salvage yard. i do rebuildables on a regular basis. the vin's they get come right off the titles, not the dashes. if anything, they are confirmed on the dash, etc.

the car looks like a legit itr to me. itr stickers which can be duplicated of course. cw paint, shaved sides, rear 3rd brake light in hatch, holes for the itr wing. obviously the 5lug was stolen and civic suspension was subsituted.

looks like a typical stripped salvaged titled itr.

It's really sad that this is such a common sight.

ABS is not ITR specific.

2900 for an empty shell? no thanks.

maybe 500-1000.

it does appear to be an ITR, there is no sound deadening, even if you remove it from a GS-R it's obvious because it's not white (well, body color) underneath on the other integras.

cause that **** be a theft recovery. would YOU leave the 5 lug on it?

-Dave, who knows of a "stolen" (aka insurance fraud) ITR that was cut up with it's 5 lug still in tact.. but I refused to buy that chit for cheap (for obvious reasons)

It looks like all the wiring and lines and all are still there, so I'm guessing it would be pretty straightforward to put back together. $500 or $1000 for an ITR shell? Goddamn, point me to it dude, I'll take that right now.

Is there any way to spot some ITR specific chassis reinforcement by looking at the stripped interior? That would be a pretty good indicator if so.

The rear subframe of an ITR is different.

you'd be surprised what people out there will bid if you put "TYPE R" all over your auction. the word is like a coinage that equates to "BLING!"

I'd pay more for a Type R shell for a track car than for a base-model Integra just for the chassis reinforcements. The extra bracing, the seam-welding, that's some damn good stuff, and would otherwise be pretty expensive to do I think.

in the rebuildable/salvage world you will never find a 98 integra even this stripped for $500-$1000 unless someone just wants it gone. salvage yards would rather just keep the car for parts, frame rails, quarter panels, rear panels, etc.

honestly, yes the car is missing a lot but not a tremendous amount.

if you can find a donor car with a good motor and good interior you're set. in most states you can throw in an ls motor, ls interior with full receipts and easily pass inspection. this gives you time to build the car the way you want. you can easily find a donor ls for very cheap, do the work yourself. the car will never be perfect but solid.

i just sold a 00GSR shell, clean title stripped worse then this for $4500. clean or salvage people pay a pretty penny (not just kids) for integras.
