Stock Tach in 4g prelude vtec is going crazy.
i have a 94 Prelude VTEC, and the stock tach when at idle just sits at 1600 rpms, and doesn't move, even though the car is idling normally, then on occassions it'll jump up to 6900rpm, and just get stuck there for no reason..
can you guys help?
thanks.

someone today, on another forum told me to check the light blue wire that's inside the distributor, he said more then likely the contact on that terminal is dirty/loose.

yeah check the blue wire, its the tach signal wire coming from the distributer, if that is messed up your tach won't read a RPM, another check would be to see if your Cruise control works becasue this also uses the tach signal fromteh distributer, thought the a breakage in teh wire could be somewhere up by the gauge, and ur cruise will still work
