Default Sk2 Stage 2 Cam?

I have a few ?’s about what I should do next.. As of right now my GSR motor is using Spoon ITR pistons, JDM CTR cams with ITR outer valve springs with Portflow inner springs and tit retainers. A Skunk2 IM with a ITR TB, run by a chipped P28 Mugen and VAFC. Now I want to go with SK2 Stage 2 cams, but will I have to upgrade my valve train with Sk2 springs and retainers, also should I upgrade my LMA with the ITR ones?

I say just upgrade the valvesrpings to the Skunk2 ones and you'll be set.

People run the Stage2s all day without swaping out the LMA's and have no problems.

if the ITR outer are the same spring rate and can hold the same lift without binding as the portflow outers, then you are fine. if there is a differance, change to the portflow.since you already have the inners. your motor would run strong with some stage 2's.

sorry, i couldnt figure out the acronymn for LMA either???

lost motion assembly. Im pretty sure taht your valvetrain is good enough. But if you want to change it up to you. if so i might buy your old stuff. i dont know too much about lma's but have heard that it is only added protection and its all up to u really. but not sure about that.

You will be fine to 8,500ish if you drop those cams in.

Ok I found the valve settings for Sk2 Stage2 cams. But are these settings for any internal mods done to B motor's??

VAVLE SETTINGS
Lash the valves to stock settings on a cold motor
INTAKE: 0.007in.
EXHAUST: 0.008in.

Most cams use stock specs. Toda wants you to set both intake and exhaust valves to 0.2mm. Just go with what the manufacturer of the cams recommends.

I am currently runnig stage 2's with itr outers with portflow inners and have had no problems at all. I have had these cams in for about a year and a half. I have taken my car to 9+ a couple of times.

As far a valve lash I set them to stock specs.

It looks like you have dealt with portflow before since you have there valve springs. Just call Tom, and ask him.

The skunk 2 cams are recommended by skunk to use aftermarket valve train (Jun-what i have, Skunk 2, Portflow..etc..) with my stock intake manifold i make power to 8400rpm(ITR cams make power to about 7800rpm) before the horespower starts to drop.

goto Portflow and get their complete valvetrain and that will work no problem.

stock injectors and walbro 190 pump

make sure you get a good header and exhaust, you will also use a short ram intake with sk2's.

Revving over 8500 with stock valvesprings will get you valvefloat. You shuld be safe up to there but anything more and it is recommended to upgrade the valvetrain or a least the valvesprings.

This needed so much air, that my cold air lost horsepower.
But, it might be different with yours setup.

I am running 11.4 comp, I think 10.5 will work, but higher you go the more the cams will like it.

I have headers, exhaust, and a short ram already on my setup as it is now. I just wanna change my CTR cams to something with a little more power band.

As for a Cold air intake, that's a no no in my books, i'm not going through that again. On my 96 Ex I sucked up some water and boom, there goes my motor.
