Default running no ignitor with msd?

Im having ignition problems running car with msd. I was told by an old wise man to completely remove the ignitor from the distributor and run wires right to the external coil? Has anybody ever done this before.thanks....

from what i remmeber of mien the ignitor still stays in there, you just disconnect the wires fromt he coil and wire from the ignitor box where the stock coil connected to , to the new coil . . . dunno if that makes sense the way im explaining it

So the ignitor stays in the distributor? But where do I connect the the four wires that come out of the ignitor? I just dont want to spend 217.00 on an ignitor if I dont have to. thanks

the only thing you take off the ignitor is the wires to the stock coil , and where they were you replace with the wires to the new coil. they run outside of the cap, i think you need a 12v ig wire coming out from there too .
im pretty positive im righ,t but its been a while, the instructions werent clear from MSD thi was the step that took me some time too until i figured it out and freaked me out cuz i blew a fuse and thought i fucked sometihng up .
I hate wiring igntions. deff not fun , best of luck to you.
When in doubt call MSD.

Its bad for daily driving? Have you ever had a rev limit at 4500 I cant get past, It just doesent go any higher. Thats why im guessing that it is the ignitor.

A good tip .. If you drive a honda, Dont mess with your ignition or fuel system unless it is nessary that you make a mod.

Go back to stock

whats up Jimmy?, I think they mean the coil, not the ignitor... and his car has the mods for an msd btm, its turbo.<itr206> so you took the msd out for the turbo?
