Default Dirty R, Bugs, Scratches, etc..

anyone got the same problem with my R?
sorry.. I know some R owners treat their R as a GEM... but my R is my daily driver..
I took 2 long trips, both from Pittsburgh to Detroit.. now my bumper is Filthy... bugs everywhere, I cleaned it up using Claybar but found that there are lots of new scratches. (I just got a bra today)..

why do I post this? I feel bad, but I couldn't help it....
I even began thinking of selling the R since I don't have that much time and $$ to take good care of it.. but I think no matter what, it is only a thing.. soon or later will be rusted, broken, etc.. so why not just enjoy it while I can, eh?
I do love driving my R.. but if I spend my time and $$ just for the R, then my life = sucks.

Now I want Honda or Acura to bring the RSX Type R... so that I can use my current R and later on can get a replacement....

Just take good care of your car.

carcareonline.com is your friend.

Put your bra on.

Or get some stongard installed for protection...

For christ's sake, just enjoy the car! In addition to the bra, you may want to invest in a pair of panties.

sheesh.

How do I keep the cob webs off my R? They are really starting to annoy me!

I spend an hour a day on I-95. Bugs, chips, you name it. I saw the first chip in the hood from a rock! F-it. It gives it character. As for it being dirty, take it through a touchless car wash once a week.

I totally agree. Just f it. Give it a good car wash weekly and if you have a rock chip, just use some touch up paint. I plan to repaint my car maybe in about 10 more years and by that time I can afford a perfect paint job only to get rock chipped again.

The ITR is my first black car, and man what a pain in the *** (full detail once a month). I'm realizing why you don't see many black show cars / restorations. The paint stays flawless for, oh, maybe a day or two after you buy it. It's 3 months old now and has plenty of chips and **** (after 3 road trips!). I've just decided that the only way to keep it perfect is to not drive the damn thing -- I figure if it looks great from a few feet away then that's good enough. I'll probably respray the front clip every few years and be done with it since I just can't bring myself to put a bra on it.

I can definitely attest that the black is a bitch to keep immaculate... my hood looks speckled even after clay magic, HD Cleanse, and Zymol Japon. No...I am not referring to the metal flake in the paint, more like little white dots where the paint has chipped I am with you on the repaint every couple of years!

I heard that the JDM nose deflects bugs and rocks completely -- you should get one of those.
