typical ECHC weekend costs???
Costs meaning entry fees, tires, fuel (for the race car) and normal consumable parts assuming you're running both days. Hotels, towing costs, grub etc can be included if you feel like sharing it...
thanks
thanks
(Since I'm still awake!) Here's what this coming weekend has already cost me on paper ahead of time: 175*2 entry fees for two pro ITs (even though the chance is always there to more than make that up in prize money at the end of the weekend, in general it's a very good idea to never give such a thing another thought again until you are holding the checks in your hands), probably 100 on tires (6 toyos for this season minus the arrc), 100 on brakes (new pads, and some rotor money), and 50 for gas, brake fluid, oil, etc. that might be used. This is without any travel money (hotel, towing gas, food, etc.), which really can more than double your weekend costs. Fortunately, other than the 45 minute tow, the travel part is free. Still, it sure ain't cheap! Hope this helped.
If you're using Hoosiers and want to show up on fresh rubber...and you have a friend crewing for you...a race weekend costs about $1,000.
300 entry fee
400 worth of tires
300 woth of fuel, hotel, food costs. Don't forget it costs money to fuel the tow rig.
Showing up on other tires would be a bit cheaper but you'll either be slower (Kumhos) or you won't be able to get them (Toyos).
This includes wear on tires (roughly 800/set, 2 weekends per set), brakes, food and lodging for you and your friend, and entry fee. Without crew, subtract 100 bucks or so for incidentals.

Baller!
Baller!

It's IT, not ECHC, but comparable.
I can't spend less than $1000 for an event that requires travel.
That includes, race car gas, tow vehicle gas, 1 crew person (sometimes 2) camping at the track, food, beer, and running hoosiers.
I am hoping that total can come down to $750 this year, as I am doing the same as Alex and running Toyos until the ARRC.

Rule #1 in racing... never Never NEVER add up what you spend on it. It's too friggin' scary.
r2x ~ who knows about what it coses her to race, but it won't be comperable to a honda probably.

Don't for get to subtract whatever you would spend on a typical weekend if you weren't racing.

OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
David (or Chad) you and Jason are a couple of Tools......
That is with (4) show kaa shine bottles and misc polishing, cleaning and detailing equipment. The new turbo, fuel injected, auto buffer set me back over 5 bills alone. Maybe I'd fit in better on the left coast with all my bling?
John- again, whos poor kaa looks like it was shoot with a 12 gauge after beaver.

Mine too. LOL, why do we even clean them?
Then again, they do look sweet during the tow

damn... i'm glad COMMA is so cheap.
$100/day for 2 practice, 1 time qualifier, 1 qualifier race, and one feature race.
so this weekend cost me about..
entry ~$100 (only did one day)
hotel ~$100
food ~$100
gas for truck/car ~$100
misc ~$100
not sure about tires... i've done 3 races on my kumho victoracers and already flipped them once, and I bet they still got another day. does that mean i'm not going fast enough??
this weekend also included:
one time fee for new timing system $100
hard-wired transponder in car $250
total: ~$750-850
but most one-day race weekends cost me about $400 since I'm not factoring in tires and haven't broke anything (badly) yet...

I wish I lived on the East Coast!
If we do a USTCC Event without any major breakages... We think we've gotten off lightly if we spend under $2000.00! It's cheaper now that we are using 235x40x17 Toyos. The hoosiers last season did not last at all! We would take 6 new scrubbed tires to the event and by Sunday if we were lucky, we would have 4 we could use next event and 2 that were only good for practice! The good side is if you finish better than 7th. you get $400.00 of the $750.00 entry fee back. Not too hard to do with the fields weve been getting!
